Taylor Joy quit school at the age of sixteen to pursue an acting career. Taylor-Joy was born the 16th of April, 1996 in Miami Florida. Anya Taylor-Joy, who is half English/half Spanish daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor who was an ex-banker during his previous profession and Jennifer Marina Joy. Her father was an Argentine who had Scottish and English ancestry. The mother of her is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children. Four of them come from her father's previous marriage. They moved with the family to Buenos Aires to Victoria, London as Taylor-Joy reached the age of six. Taylor-Joy says the move to London was traumatizing and that she didn't take the time to learn English to avoid moving back to Argentina. Hill House became her school that she chose after being forced to change schools. Later she attended Queen's Gate School, where she learned dance and participated in plays. She quit high school at 16 to focus on her acting profession. Taylor-Joy was a child actress and was sure she would eventually become an actor. She realized her dream when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a job as a model.
